Privacy Policy

Cadence is a GLP-1 medication companion built on a simple principle: your health information is none of our business. Literally. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.

The short version: Cadence has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs of any kind. Everything you enter stays on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. Paul Badarau (trading as alplustech), the developer of Cadence, has no access to it, cannot see it, and does not receive it in any form. On the App Store this is declared as Data Not Collected.

1. Who we are

Cadence is developed by Paul Badarau, trading as alplustech ("we", "us", "the developer"), based in Timișoara, Romania. We can be reached at [email protected].

2. What information the app stores

Cadence lets you record, at your own discretion:

Injections you log: dose, date, and the body site you used
Your medication and titration schedule, and shot-day reminders you configure
Weight and body measurements, and a goal weight
Side effects, their severity, and free-text notes
Meals and nutrition (protein, calories, and other macros) and hydration

This information is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you are signed into iCloud, it can also sync through Apple's CloudKit framework to your own private iCloud database: the same private storage space used by apps like Photos or Notes. It is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple's infrastructure under your Apple ID. If iCloud is unavailable, Cadence simply keeps everything on the device.

3. What we don't do

No accounts. Cadence does not ask you to sign up, log in, or create a profile with us.
No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries.
No ads. Cadence does not show advertising.
No server of ours. There is no alplustech-operated backend that receives, stores, or processes your data. We have built nothing that would let us see it, and we cannot recover it if you lose access to your iCloud account.

4. Apple Health

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Cadence can read your body weight so your trend stays current without retyping, and can save weigh-ins you log back to Health so your other apps stay in sync. This exchange happens only with your explicit permission, directly through Apple's HealthKit on your device. Health data is never sent to us or any third party, and Cadence only ever touches body weight: nothing else in your Health record.

5. Camera

Cadence can use the camera only to read a Nutrition Facts label you point it at, using on-device text recognition. The camera image is processed on your device to extract the numbers; it is not stored by Cadence and never leaves your device.

6. On-device intelligence

Optional features such as estimating a meal from a description or generating a plain-language weekly read use Apple's on-device Foundation Models. These run entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence; the text you enter and the results generated are not sent to us or to any external service.

7. Notifications

Shot-day and reminder alerts are scheduled as local notifications on your own device using Apple's notification framework. No reminder content or scheduling data is sent to us or to any third party.

8. Purchases (Cadence Plus)

Cadence offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time purchase ("Cadence Plus") through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or receive your payment details, card information, or Apple ID. For refunds or billing questions, use Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com, since we do not have access to App Store payment records.

9. Not medical advice

Cadence is a logging and reminder tool. It records the doses, weights, meals, and side effects you enter, and reads back the medication schedule you configure. It does not calculate, recommend, or adjust a dose, and nothing in the app, including any on-device text it generates, is medical, dosing, or dietary advice. Always follow the guidance of your healthcare professional and your medication's instructions.

10. Data retention and your control

Because Cadence does not hold any of your data, retention and deletion are entirely in your hands: deleting an entry, deleting the app, or removing Cadence's iCloud data from your device's Settings removes it. You can export a doctor-visit summary from within the app at any time.

11. Children's privacy

Cadence is intended for adults managing their own GLP-1 treatment. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

12. Legal basis and your rights (GDPR)

Because no personal data about you is transmitted to, or processed by, the developer, most obligations that fall on a data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), such as identifying a lawful basis for processing, honoring access or erasure requests against our own systems, or maintaining a record of processing activities, do not apply, since there is no processing by us to speak of. Your data resides solely on your device and, if enabled, with Apple as the operator of iCloud, under Apple's own privacy policy and your Apple ID account controls. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you retain full rights over your iCloud data via Apple directly.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, note them in the app's release notes.

14. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Romania and, where applicable, the European Union, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
